AdventureFun and adventure is usually within an hours drive; the exception being Volcanoes Nat'l Park which is 90 minutes away.
Waterfall hikes and swimming - There are several waterfalls/ hikes and swimming at the bottom of some. Click: waterfalls and hikes
Ziplines and Waterfalls - Zip Line and Water Fall this and other zipline tours are available. Volcanoes National Park - Sometimes lava is actually flowing and you can see it spew into the Pacific. Lava tubes and lava fields look otherworldly: Volcanoes National Park Sea Kayaking - Included cliff jumping (about 30 feet up). Plus snorkeling and kayaking into a sea cave. Click: sea kayak Night Manta Ray Snorkel - The Big Island of Hawaii is the only place in all of Hawaii you can do this: Manta Ray Snorkeling Hike Pololu Valley - Steep but manageable 30 min hike down. Incredibly secluded beach at the bottom: Pololu Valley. There is a great smoothie stand, Fresh off the Grid, with the freshest smoothies/ juice/ food located near the hike entrance. It’s only open on weekends. You sit at tables in the grass and overlook the cliffs/ ocean. Waipio Valley - Only guided tours are allowed to the bottom of this stunning valley due to the road erosion. Click Waipio link for details. Mauna Kea Observatory - Snow in Hawaii! Mauna Kea is the largest dormant volcano in the center of the island. Its peak is 13,000 ft., so bring a jacket! Because it’s in the middle of the Pacific, it’s arguably one the darkest places in the world, and they placed an observatory up there. In the winter there can be snow on the mountain top. Kailua Kona is the “big town” - 40 minutes from the condo. Lots of shops, restaurants, etc. Kailua-Kona
Coffee Farms - Beautiful landscape and scenery. Most have quaint cafes/ coffee shops. Check it out: Coffee Farms Coffee Shack - Some consider it the restaurant with the best views in all of the Hawaiian Islands. It’s found in “coffee country,” where the coffee farms are. Grab lunch or breakfast there after snorkeling Two Step. Click here: coffee shack Old historic Hilo town: It’s the vibe of “old Hawaii”. Located on the opposite side of the island.
